Overview

One year after joining The Harvest Messianic Congregation, I began to volunteer, meeting the needs of the community whenever and wherever possible. Some of these areas include Small Group Leader, Lead Sound Technician, Media Director, Youth Director, Sabbath Teacher, and Education Director. I enrolled in the Leadership Training School offered by the church, and upon completion, I joined the staff and was licensed and ordained as Executive Pastor. Key responsibilities in this role included assisting the Senior Pastor in the day-to-day operation and organization of the congregation. I would also oversee and create various ministries in the congregation, including the Children’s Messianic Education Program and the B’nei Mitzvah (Children of the Commandment) Program.

After nine years at The Harvest, I took all the experience and knowledge that I gained, and I started a church in my living room. I learned a lot of valuable lessons establishing The Front Range Messianic Community, including managing finances, organizing events, communicating with large groups, and networking with neighboring churches and pastors. The most important lessons were learned in working closely with people, people of all walks of life. Listening to them and meeting their needs, getting to know them, and building relationships. Also, as the Pastor, I had the opportunity to hone my skills as a public speaker and teacher. Over a period of six years, I prepared and presented a sermon almost every week, speaking for 30-45 minutes each time.

Several years later, I joined a friend in planting a church in Tacoma, Washington. At Alive In Messiah Nondenominational Church, I shared the responsibility for teaching on the Sabbath and Festival Days. I also assisted in structuring and organizing the service segments, scheduling the various readings, hymn lists, website maintenance, and other essential items necessary for running the congregation.

Currently, I volunteer at the church where I regularly attend. I have filled in for the Pastor when he was out. I also teach Bible classes when opportunities arise.
